Ischia cuisine
Ischia cuisine, rooted in the culinary tradition of Campania, is a sensorial journey that reflects the very essence of the island.
At the center of this gastronomic experience is wine, a fundamental element of Ischia's tables. The terraced vineyards, kissed by the Mediterranean sun, produce wines with an intense and enveloping character, perfect companions for every meal.
Among the most famous dishes on the island, the Ischia-style rabbit stands out, prepared with skill and enriched with local aromas such as rosemary and chilli pepper, which give the dish a unique and enveloping flavour.
Alongside the rabbit, pizza, the symbol of Neapolitan food and wine, finds its particular declination here, enriched with fresh and genuine ingredients, such as San Marzano tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella.
But it is precisely the lemon, the main product of the island, that gives a touch of freshness and liveliness to many dishes, from fish to pasta. Its fragrance and acidity blend perfectly with the intense flavors of Ischia cuisine, giving a unique experience that enchants the palate and the soul.
In every dish, therefore, the soul of Ischia manifests itself, an island rich in history, tradition and authenticity, which is fully expressed through its culinary treasures.
The most beautiful beaches
The beaches of Ischia are enchanting treasures that enchant visitors with their natural beauty and the variety of landscapes they offer.
Among these, Maronti beach stands out for its vastness and the golden sand that extends for kilometers along the southern coast of the island. Here, the crystal clear sea and shallow waters create an ideal environment for relaxing and enjoying the sun.
San Montano, on the other hand, enchants with its turquoise waters and breathtaking views of the bay of Lacco Ameno.
Citara beach is famous for its warm and thermal waters, which flow directly from the ground and offer guests a pleasant relaxing experience. San Francesco is a small beach characterized by a peaceful atmosphere and enchanting scenery, surrounded by cliffs and lush vegetation.
Chiaia, on the other hand, is known for its light and fine sand, which gently dives into the crystalline sea, creating a postcard image.
Sant'Angelo, with its colorful houses overlooking the sea and the characteristic rocky promontory, is one of the most evocative locations on the island, set in a dream landscape.
The Fumaroles, however, offer a unique spectacle with their hot water springs that flow directly onto the beach, creating natural pools in which to dive and relax.
Finally, the Sorgeto Bay is famous for its thermal waters that mix with the sea, giving guests the opportunity to bathe in an environment unique in the world.
In every corner of Ischia, therefore, you can discover beaches and bays of extraordinary beauty, immersed in an atmosphere of peace and serenity that conquers the hearts of anyone who visits them.
Places to Discover
Ischia is an island full of fascinating places to discover, among which three natural and cultural jewels stand out: the miraculous waters of Nitrodi, the La Mortella Gardens with the Lady Walton Museum and the Ravino Gardens.
The thermal waters of Nitrodi have been famous since ancient times for their therapeutic and healing properties. Located in a lush green valley, these natural springs offer guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in warm, beneficial waters, ideal for relieving muscle tension and regenerating body and mind.
The La Mortella Gardens, created by the English composer Sir William Walton and his wife Lady Susana, are an oasis of botanical and musical beauty. Here, among an extraordinary variety of exotic and Mediterranean plants, there is also the Lady Walton Museum, which houses a collection of archaeological finds and works of art.
Finally, the Ravino Gardens are another green treasure of Ischia, characterized by a suggestive collection of succulent plants and a unique landscape, dominated by the extraordinary forms of cacti and agaves.
